District Attorney Vern Pierson announces the conviction of Matthew Steven Carlile for Felony Domestic Violence

On November 5, 2018, Matthew Steven Carlile pled no contest to one count of felony domestic violence-Penal Code section 273.5. Mr. Carlile was sentenced to 180 days in custody and will be required to attend and complete a 52 week Batterers Treatment Program.

On May 27, 2018, Mr. Carlile punched his wife, causing a black eye. On September 9, 2018, Mr. Carlile again battered his wife by hitting her multiple times, causing injury.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Kassie Cardullo as a part of the Special Victim's Unit. The case was investigated by the El Dorado County District Attorney's Office and the Placerville Police Department.
