Five Year Prison Sentence for Repeat Domestic Violence Offender

Posted: June 21, 2018

Corey Anthony Denbae, age 31, a South Lake Tahoe resident, was convicted of felony domestic violence after suffering a prior felony domestic violence conviction in 2015.  Denbae was sentenced to 5 years in the state prison.

On April 17, 2018, El Dorado Sheriff Deputies responded to a report of domestic violence on Grizzly Mountain Road.  Upon arrival, deputies discovered that Denbae had fled the scene.  While the victim minimized what had happened, other eyewitnesses described how Denbae had physically attacked his wife, hitting her in the face, kicking her and choking her.  The eyewitnesses also reported that Denbae had threatened to kill everyone in the residence, including the couple's minor age children.  Denbae was arrested the following day when he returned to the residence.

This case was investigated by the El Dorado Sheriff's Office with the assistance of the California Highway Patrol and prosecuted by the District Attorney's Special Victims Unit.
