Felon Caught Doing Drugs in Stolen Car

On May 1, 2018, Brian Richard Dimond, age 40, was convicted of felony Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and misdemeanor Providing False Identity to Peace Officer.  Dimond was sentenced to 3 years 8 months in "County Prison" pursuant to 1170(h).  


On January 7, 2018, a citizen reported that Dimond and another individual were parked in an odd location, acting suspiciously.  When El Dorado Sheriff's Deputies arrived to investigate, they found Dimond and his passenger doing illegal narcotics in a parked vehicle.  Conducting a routine records check revealed the vehicle had previously been reported stolen out of Roseville, CA.


The case was investigated by the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office and the District Attorney's Auto Fraud Unit, and prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Brittany Griffith.  Dimond, who has a felony drug history, may apply to do the last year of his sentence in a residential treatment facility.
