South Lake Tahoe Man Sentenced for Felony Domestic Violence

On March 5, 2018, defendant Douglas James Best, Jr. pleaded no contest to felony domestic violence causing injury.

 

Best was arrested on February 8, 2018, when the victim reported that Best had pulled her hair, thrown her to the ground and kicked her in the ribs during an argument.  Afterwards, Best posted a message on the victim's Facebook page stating, "How long disd you think you could walk all over me before i snapped."  

 

Best was sentenced by Judge Suzanne Kingsbury to 180 days county jail and 5 years formal, felony probation.  In addition, Best was ordered to complete a 52 week domestic violence treatment program, may no longer possess firearms and is subject to search and seizure by law enforcement to make sure he is complying with the terms of his probation.
