District Attorney's Office Brings Community Together

Posted: February 09, 2018

District Attorney Vern Pierson would like to thank everyone who attended the District Attorney's Office Open House last night.  We enjoyed meeting so many of you and sharing our innovations in justice, social media outreach, virtual jury view drone technology, Project LEAD, and of course our beautiful new office.

We would like specifically to thank the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians, the El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce, the Placerville Merchants Association, Old Town Grill, Flowers on Main, and Delloree's Confections, for the support, the planning, and the wonderful food, treats, and beautiful flowers that added so much to the event.  In addition, the following merchants donated gifts to be given to a few of our guests: Ambiance, Combellack's, Window Box Antiques, Robinson-s, Tree House, Cascada, Nature's Art, Mattywags, Fine Arts in the Pines, Strawberry Design, Elements Hair, The Bookery, My Martha Design Boutique, Shabby Rabbit, Hangtown Original, The Crystal Ship, Body Basics, Painted Owl, Lofty Lou's, Panic & Swoon, Sierra Homes, Kelsey's, Hangman's Tree, and Jack Russell Brewery.  The support of our community was overwhelming for this event.

We would also like to thank various additional law enforcement agencies and presenters who participated in the event by demonstrating various technologies used in the pursuit of justice and sharing information:  Placerville Police Department, El Dorado County Probation, South Lake Tahoe Police Department, California Department of Fish & Wildlife, California Highway Patrol, Crime Stopper, Lyft, and CHI Monitoring.  Several of these agencies, as well as members of the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office were in attendance.  Our partnership with law enforcement agencies, county agencies, and with the public is integral to ensuring the success of our office and our mission to hold defendants accountable for their crimes and for providing justice to victims.

We enjoyed meeting and speaking with so many different members of the public to help everyone better understand what we do here at the District Attorney's Office and how we seek to provide justice to the citizens of El Dorado County.  Events like these help build a sense of community and always give us better ideas for ways to improve and sustain our mission and always strive to better our service to the public.
