Posted: September 18, 2017

On August 7, 2017, Scott Louis Campbell pleaded no contest to felony violations of Penal Code § 273.5(a), corporal injury to a spouse resulting in a traumatic condition, and Penal Code § 245(a)(2), assault with a firearm, stemming from a domestic violence incident that occurred on July 8, 2017. During that incident, the Defendant pointed a loaded shotgun at his wife and threatened to kill her with it and also hit her and threw her around the house.

The Defendant was sentenced on September 11, 2017, to 180 days in the El Dorado County Jail and will be on supervised probation for a period of four years. The Penal Code § 245(a)(2) conviction is a strike offense and will serve to double the punishment of any future felony conviction and reduce the amount of credits Defendant will receive in the future as well.
